uvula is the word of the day.

Man I am getting tired of politics and Banks failing and my stock being in the dump. I am ready for Obama to be President and end poverty and hunger in the world. I know that would make him the Anitchrist. With hunger and poverty gone though every one is happy and my stock will bounce to where I am not loosing my pants on it so I can sell and pay a little faith pledge I made in so very little faith.
So I have a love hate relationship with email right now.
I love getting stuff from loved ones but I only lie like It when I comes to me and not to over say 10 or 20 others. You know what I am talking about these political emails. I know I should care but like I said earlier I am over saturated and I no longer think it matters one way or the other. I have friends from both persuasions saying ooh this one is an important election.
I want to respond with “they are all important and nothing really ever changes.” Yeah one guys is better at this than the other and the other had more experience in like 4 extra thing and this year one is old and one is a few years older than my self, but I still don’t think that is going to matter long term.
So when I get these political emails I always say something mean in my head that changes them around and makes life more entertaining for me.  This morning’s was a personal message from Dr James Dobson of Focus on the family fame. “This week, Dr. Dobson delivered an extremely important radio message in which he outlined the specific reasons why he now supports Senator John McCain in the upcoming presidential election.”
Then I insert number one
He has a hot wife and he is old so when he kicks the bucket I am going to the funeral with a bottle of bubbly on ice some redi-whip some strawberries and a Barry White CD.

Ok hope your weekend is off to a good start. my started with my uvula 3x its normal size.

age appropriate - wait, who me?

October 9th, 2008 · 1 Comment

So another cool or relatively cool morning today mid 60s on my drive in so I have the windows cracked and I see this guy, my age probably in a car that I used to think was so cool and he also has his windows down and he is listening to Old School Dave Matthews. I used to be WAY into Dave and that is pretty much all I listened to. I have kind of been disheartened there has been so much activity in the Dave Camp but so little new product. I am a total consumer always wanting the new stuff or the remastered old stuff and the new packaging but enough already. So this guy my age has no doubt paid for the Jeep Cherokee with the lift kit and the big tires, and he has listened to the Dave cd so many times it has become kind of a mantra to him at this point.
I still like Dave and I would still like a jacked up Cherokee, but I caught a glimpse. Do you ever see the guy who is starting to age and you think oh look he is starting to get older and things that were so cool are now just kind of nerdy? I do and I know I am right there in So many ways like today I wore my old vans. I have had shoes like this for years and years. Are they a bit much? Oh yeah, but do I pretend like I don’t know and I don’t care um yeah.

in other news i got my Shuffle to come back to life!

paris in the spring, the ozarks in the fall

October 6th, 2008 · 8 Comments

I am so ready to go home. I miss everything about fall today. I miss the cool rain and the colored leaves and old truck I used to call the beast and I miss going to papa Whites place to work on some ones car and the darkness that hides along the road just off into the bushes. I want Pumpkin or pecan pie and chili. We used to have this party out at the old Kraft home place farm and have hay rides and the works, impromptu skits and bonfires and marshmallows so charred they look like a lump of coal. I miss the feeling I get when the air is cold and I smell of wood smoke from a fire place. From my child hood bedroom window on the second floor there was the valley and the hills side opposite was awash in a warm tapestry of greens and browns and oranges and reds. I miss playing in the band at school and the hours and hours of practice. I am nostalgic for it all, and I am hoping it is all going to be waiting on me when I return there in a week or two. And then I hope some thing gets to me and I’ll be ready to come home again to Texas where the best thing I can think to say about my surroundings is that “it isn’t all THAT bad.” But there is nothing that makes this place nostalgic to me in any way. Except maybe the old whole foods down; town where REI and Anthropology are now. MexiMelt and I went there one thanksgiving day and got tortilla soup and a big deal of bread for a snack while the turkey was cooking. That was nice.  And this is my background screen I look at most of the day.

and this is my little Mexican pepper!

whoa nelly

October 1st, 2008 · 2 Comments

i get yelled at often so when ever it happens now i imagine the person yelling butt naked. and then getting the crap beat out of them. It makes me feel better on the inside.

Ok so this morning NPR and Steve Inskip (who is sounding more and more like he belongs on one of the major cable news shows with his little the sky is falling inflections) interviewed Senator John McCain, (the guy who is running for president with the hot rich wife) they mentioned fact check dot org. so i went there. It has long been my opinion that some kkk hold over from some isolated pocket of america will attempt to assasinate Obama WHEN he is elected. so fact check had this on thier site. NRA Targets Obama

COME ON i mean even i am sensitive enough to think that headline is a bit, um-suggestive. I’m just saying if i had come up with this headline you all would have been yelling at me and i would be smiling taking it and all the while dreaming in my head of your little hands covering your face, shielding the flat handed face slap that stings so hard spit fly’s out of your mouth.

WOW and it is a nice and easy wednesday and i have not inner rage or anything! i am even having a chick-fil-a sweet tea. i was rewarding my self for feeling thin. But maybe it is due to the fact this is the second day of wearing these jeans, they always stretch!

strike 7

September 24th, 2008 · 8 Comments

i work really hard for my pay and i like to have a good time.

My entertainment dollar is on average spent most often on food consumption. You would have never known that just by looking at my gut i know, huh? And i have standards bread in me more or less that let me instinctively know if i like a food place or nit.

I have went to the Spaghetti Warehouse here in Austin i am trying 6to remember but something like 7 times. This place is said to be an institution here. Been here for 40 some odd years, blah blah blah. We went today for a coworkers Birthday. Gag me with  wooden spoon, nasty and slow and no i will never go back i am sorry it has been put on probation before bu today was the straw that broke the camels back. Now watch Zach and Vida are coming to visit and they will pull that one out of their hat as a place they want to eat. I am gonna have to see if i can persuade them away.

So peanut got her first try at a bottle last night. She took it fine but i think the whole thing kind of messed her up as far as sleeping goes. Where as normally she sleeps in a pattern last night was all over the map. This morning she was griping about something so i took her into the bath room with me so her mom could get some quiet while i dressed for work. i laid out a towel in the sink beside mine and sat her in it. it is the perfect size for her. She sat there as calm as you could ask for and watched me shave and brush my teeth like she would at any second just start talking about what i had going on today at work and what not. She is a rascal. I sat her back with her mom as i left and she again started complaining.Sorry MexiMelt; Jr. is a bonafide rascal.

9/23/AM

Well it is a nice hot fall day already here in Austin.
Things from this morning. I went to the bagel shop and on my way there saw a Fj40 that I actually have looked at on line in California from TLC the foremost restorers of vintage Toyotas. These are the same guys who were trying to buy mine and I go to it before they could snag it. This FJ40 ya’ll it was beautiful and oh my lord I never wanted to car jack some one so bad in all my life.
And you know how we always think the crisp (corrected spelling today) the crisp fall air is full of smells. I think it is my smeller actually just on overdrive. A girl was walking into the building in 30 feet in front of me today and I could smell that she was wearing CK1.  A lady that I work with just walked in wearing WAY TOO MUCH of something (if you like Elizabeth Taylor’s ‘Passion’ you’ll LOVE ‘DRAMA’ the imitation version) and now my whole office smells so strong. She just walked in and left. Gross.
so my Einsteins; I had a pumpkin bagel and pumpkin shmear on it.
Dear lord it was yummy.
And I am branching out a bit the new flavor of coffee is autumn roast, Elizabeth you are going to like it I swear.
Oh and did you know that the Guy from Iron and Wine lives in Dripping Springs a tiny little town close to here? They (or He) need a better web site. pathetic.
I did not know that. Sweet. Some one else famous lives here.
And just because I am this daddy here is my peanut wearing her uggs cause you know some where in the world people close their pools this time of year and it actually gets cold enough to wear long sleeves.

It is Fall Even Google has a fallish logo today and i saw this calvin picture that made me think of Pizza hut in Neosho and Convocation for some reason and how the world just shuts down and could come to an end during it when i was a kid and i would not have known and now i dont even know when it happens.
